Lyrics
I can't get to sleep
I think about the implications
Of diving in too deep
And possibly the complications
Especially at night
I worry over situations
I know will be alright
Perhaps it's just imagination
Day after day it reappears
Night after night MY heartbeat shows the fear
Ghosts appear and fade away
Alone between the sheets
Only brings exasperation
It's time to walk the streets
Smell the desperation
At least there's pretty lights
And though there's little variation
It nullifies the night from overkill
Day after day it reappears
Night after night MY heartbeat shows the fear
Ghosts appear and fade away
Come back another day
I can't get to sleep
I think about the implications
Of diving in too deep
And possibly the complications
Especially at night
I worry over situations
I know will be alright
It's just overkill
Day after day it reappears
Night after night MY heartbeat shows the fear
Ghosts appear and fade away
Ghosts appear and fade away
Ghosts appear and fade away

1980s Oz rock; If you leave me, can I come too?
Songwriters: Martin Edward Murphy

Mental As Anything are an Australian new wave/pop rock band that formed in Sydney in 1976.
Its most popular line-up (which lasted from 1977 to 1999) was Martin Plaza (birth name Martin Murphy) on vocals and guitar; Reg Mombassa (birth name Christopher O'Doherty) on lead guitar and vocals; his brother Peter "Yoga Dog" O'Doherty on bass guitar and vocals; Wayne de Lisle (birth name David Twohill) on drums; and Andrew "Greedy" Smith on vocals, keyboards and harmonica.
Their original hit songs were generated by Mombassa, O'Doherty, Plaza and Smith, either individually or collectively; they also hit the Australian charts with covers of songs by Roy Orbison, Elvis Presley and Chuck Berry.

Lyrics

Words were exchanged last night
You could call it a fight
It's such a shame I never thought we would,
Wouldn't be so bad, if it weren't so good
I've had enough of that,
Other loves in days gone by.
It wasn't much I know,
Just enough, enough to make me cry
If you leave me, can I come too?
We can always stay
But if you leave me, can I come too?
And if you go, can I come too?
Don't let it happen again
'cause that I couldn't take, once was quite enough
It's easy to forgive, harder to forget
If you leave me, can I come too?
We can always stay
But if you leave me, can I come too?
And if you go, can I come too?

Tremendous track by Gary Moore "Cold Day in Hell"

only registered users can see external links

So many times you tried to take the best of me.
So many times, now you're gonna take the rest of me.
Better look at what you're doing before it's too late.
It's a fine line you're treadin' between love and hate.
There'll be a cold day in hell
before I'm coming back to you.
So many times you tried to play a dead end game.
Yes, you did.
I tried to tell you, but you'd never wanna take the blame.
Now you've pushed me to the limit, and I can't take no more.
You'd better take one last look before I'm out the door.
There'll be a cold day in hell
before I'm coming back to you.
You never listened when I told you
that you were way out of line.
Too busy talkin' to listen,
accusing me of telling lies.
So many times you tried to get the best of me.
Yes, you did.
So many times, but now you're gonna take the rest of me.
Well, it's too late for sorry and it's too late for tears.
Better take one last look before I disappear.
There'll be a cold day in hell
before I'm coming back to you.
There'll be a cold day in hell
before I'm coming back to you.
There'll be a cold day in hell
before I'm coming back to you.
Yeah!
(Gonna be a cold day in hell)
(Gonna be a cold day in hell)
(Gonna be a cold day in hell)
(Gonna be a cold day in hell)
(Gonna be a cold day in hell)
(Gonna be a cold day in hell)
(Gonna be a cold day in hell)
(It's gonna be a cold, cold day in hell)

Sherbet was one of the most prominent and successful Australian rock bands of the 1970s. The 'classic line-up' of Daryl Braithwaite on vocals, Tony Mitchell on bass guitar, Garth Porter on keyboards, Alan Sandow on drums, and Clive Shakespeare on guitar provided their teen-orientated pop style

Lyrics
Summer love is like no other love
Oooh yeah-eah-eah
Summer love is like no other love
You know what I mean
Summer love is like no other lo-ove
Cloudy skys are blown by with a breeze
And when that su-un shi-ines
Life comes easy
Bye bye troubles goodby-ye
I'm walkin' with my head in the sky-why-why
See birds sailing in and out of blue
Oh when that su-un shines
I'll be there with you-ou
When you bring your lovin' to me-ee
Let your love come easy and free-ee
Yeah, Listen
Summer love is like no other love
Oooh yeah-yeah
Summer love is like no other love
Summer love is like no other lo-ove
Oo-ooh
Everybody talk about the summertime blues
Just take it easy and let it cruise
The sun is up and the day is fine
I feel so good in the summer ti-i-ime
When you bring your lovin' to me-ee
Let your love come easy and free-ee, Yeah
You know what I mea-ea-ean
Summer love is like no other love
Summer love is like no other love
Summer love is like no other love
Summer love is like no other love
Summer love is like no other love

In the summertime when the weather is hot
You can stretch right up and touch the sky
When the weather's fine
You got women, you got women on your mind
Have a drink, have a drive
Go out and see what you can find

If her daddy's rich take her out for a meal
If her daddy's poor just do what you feel
Speed along the lane
Do a turn or return the twenty-five
When the sun goes down
You can make it, make it good and really fine

We're not bad people
We're not dirty, we're not mean
We love everybody but we do as we please
When the weather's fine
We go fishin' or go swimmin' in the sea
We're always happy
Life's for livin' yeah, that's our philosophy

Sing along with us
Dee dee dee-dee dee
Dah dah dah-dah dah
Yeah we're hap-happy
Dah dah-dah
Dee-dah-do dee-dah-do dah-do-dah
Dah-do-dah-dah-dah

You're My World

You're my world, you're every breath I take
you're my world, you're every move I make
other eyes see the stars up in the skies
but for me they shine within you're eyes

As the trees reach for the sun above
so my arms reach out to you for love
with your hand resting in mine
I feel a power so divine

You're my world, you are my night and day
you're my world, you're every prayer i pray
if our love ceases to be
then it's the end of my world for me

With your hand resting in mine
I feel a power so divine

You're my world, you are my night and day
you're my world, you're every prayer i pray
if our love ceases to be
then it's the end of my world, end of my world,
end of my world for me

Oz rocker Richard Clapton (Live 1989)
One of the first musos on Oz radio featuring Oz locations
(BTW I lived near mentioned Palm Beach Rd)

Deep Water

We used to go down to the beach at night
fireflies dancing in the promenade light.
Ah those rock 'n' roll bands used to really swing
and I'd do the foxtrot with sweet Christine
Speaking to me with her gentle hands
fly on down to wonderland

Deep water
I'm caught up in its flow
if I'm in over my head
I'd be the last to know
Deep water
Deep water

They closed down the doors to the Trocedero
and I came back looking just like a ghost.
Posters were scattered all over the stairs

Nobody reads them, nobody cares.
Kids are retired when they reach 21
really just ain't my idea of fun

Sittin' out on the Palm Beach road
I'm so drunk and the car won't go.
My crazy eyes keep looking out to sea.
Sunday drivers are cruisin' around
wish they'd all go back to town
What the hell do they expect to find?
Sure as hell ain't peace of mind!

Deep water

Hold on
Hold on now

Oz rockers INXS 1988

Don't ask me
What you know is true
Don't have to tell you
I love your precious heart
I
I was standing
You were there
Two worlds collided
And they could never tear us apart
We could live
For a thousand years
But if I hurt you
I'd make wine from your tears
I told you
That we could fly
'Cause we all have wings
But some of us don't know why
I was standing
You were there
Two worlds collided
And they could never ever tear us apart
I

Throw Your Arms Around Me

I will come for you at night time
I will raise you from your sleep
I will kiss you in four places
As I go running along your street
I will squeeze the life out of you
You will make me laugh and make me cry
And we will never forget it
You will make me call your name
And I'll shout it to the blue summer sky
And we may never meet again
So shed your skin and let's get started
And you will throw your arms around me
Yeah, you will throw your arms around me
I dreamed of you at nighttime
And I watched you in your sleep
I met you in high places
I touched your head and touched your feet
So if you disappear out of view
You know I will never say goodbye
And though I try to forget it
You will make me call your name
And I'll shout it to the blue summer sky
And we may never meet again
So shed your skin and let's get started
And you will throw your arms around me
Yeah, you will throw your arms around me
Oh, yeah
Oh yeah
You will throw your arms around me
Yeah, you will throw your arms around me

Vince Jones
Born in Glasgow, Vince and his family came to live in Australia when he was 11 years old. He grew up in Wollongong, NSW, listening to his musician father’s collection of great jazz albums, and the feel, style and essence of the music became a natural part of Vince’s world. Starting his jazz performance journey as a bebop trumpet player, the young man had no idea that in 10 years, then 20 years – his superb voice would touch the hearts and minds of many listeners – in Australia and beyond. At 20, Vince began playing the club circuit in Melbourne. He was drawn to R&B music – a genre in which the emotive force of the voice is matched by technical and improvising skills. To a young man steeped in jazz and blessed with a good voice – it was natural to meld these elements together and so began the evolution of one of Australia’s great jazz vocalists.

7th album Trustworthy Little Sweethearts 1988

Big City

There's no place on Earth that I'd rather be
Give me the bright lights
Big cities for me
Don't live in the country
All those hippies running free
All I want are the bright lights
Big cities for me
Now come on, come on, to the city
Big cities for me
I got a woman and she's waiting there for me
And I met her in the city
Big cities for me
Night-time is the right time
Shock town is my town
I got a woman and she's waiting there for me
I met her in the city
Big cities for me
Night-time is the right time
Shock town is my town

I'm Jake the Peg, diddle-iddle-iddle-um
With my extra leg, diddle-iddle-iddle-um
Wherever I go through rain and snow
The people always let me know
There's Jake the peg, diddle-iddle-iddle-um
With his extra leg, diddle-iddle-iddle
The day that I born (oh boy) my father nearly died
He couldn't get my nappies on, how matter how he tried
'cause I was born with an extra leg, and since that day begun
I had to learn to stand on my own three feet
Believe me that's no fun
I'm Jake the Peg, diddle-iddle-iddle-um
With my extra leg, diddle-iddle-iddle-um
Wherever I go through rain and snow
The people always let me know
There's Jake the peg, diddle-iddle-iddle-um
With his extra leg, diddle-iddle-iddle
I had a dreadful childhood really, I s'pose I shouldn't moan
Each time they had a three legged race, I won it on me own
And also I got popular, when came the time for cricket
They used to roll my trousers up
And use me for the wicket
I'm Jake the Peg, diddle-iddle-iddle-um
With my extra leg, diddle-iddle-iddle-um
Wherever I go through rain and snow
The people always let me know
There's Jake the peg, diddle-iddle-iddle-um
With his extra leg, diddle-iddle-iddle
I was a dreadful scholar, I found all the lessons hard
The only thing I knew for sure, was three feet make a yard
To count to ten I used me fingers, if I needed more
By getting my shoes and socks off
I could count to twenty four
I'm Jake the [stops to count]
...to twenty five
I'm Jake the peg, diddle-iddle-iddle-um
With my extra leg, diddle-iddle-iddle-um
Whatever I did they said was false
They said "quick march" I did the quick waltz
Then they shouted at me "put your best foot forward" - but which foot?
I said "it's very fine for you, you only got a choice of two"
But me, I'm Jake the Peg, diddle-iddle-iddle-um
With the extra leg... diddle-iddle-iddle-um

Hello Baton Rouge
Won't you turn your radio down
Respect the seven second delay we use
So you say there's a race
Of men in the trees
You're for tough legislation
Thanks for calling
I wait all night
For calls like these
An independent station
WJAZ
With jazz and conversation
From the foot of Mt. Belzoni
Sweet music
Tonight the night is mine
Late line 'til the sun
Comes through the skylight
I've got plenty of java
And Chesterfield Kings
But I feel like crying
I wish I had a heart like ice
Heart like ice
If you want your honey
To look super swell
You must spring
For that little blue jar
Patton's Kiss And Tell
Kiss And Tell
An independent station

With jazz and conversation
From the foot of Mt. Belzoni
Sweet music
Tonight the night is mine

Monday mornin' feels so bad
Ev'rybody seems to nag me
Comin' Tuesday I feel better
Even my old man looks good
Wed'sday just don't go
Thursday goes too slow
I've got Friday on my mind
Gonna have fun in the city
Be with my girl, she's so pretty
She looks fine tonight
She is out of sight to me
Tonight I'll spend my bread, tonight
I'll lose my head, tonight
I've got to get to night
Monday I'll have Friday on my mind
Do the five day grind once more
I know of nothin' else that bugs me
More than workin' for the rich man
Hey! I'll change that scene one day
Today I might be mad, tomorrow I'll be glad
'Cause I'll have Friday on my mind
Gonna have fun in the city
Be with my girl, she's so pretty
She looks fine tonight.
She is out of sight to me
Tonight I'll spend my bread, tonight
I'll lose my head, tonight
I've got to get to night
Monday I'll have Friday on my mind

Just an old fashioned love song (Three Dog Night)

only registered users can see external links

Just an old fashioned love song
Playing on the radio
And wrapped around the music is the sound
Of someone promising they'll never go
You'll swear you've heard it before
As it slowly rambles on and on
No need in bringing 'em back
'Cause they've never really gone
Just an old fashioned love song
One I'm sure they wrote for you and me
Just an old fashioned love song
Coming down in three part harmony
To weave our dreams upon and listen
To each evening when the lights are low
To underscore our love affair with tenderness
And feeling that we've come to know
You'll swear you've heard it before
As it slowly rambles on and on
No need in bringing 'em back
'Cause they've never really gone
Just an old fashioned love song
Coming down in three part harmony
Just an old fashioned love song
One I'm sure they wrote for you and me
Just an old fashioned love song
Coming down in three part harmony
Just an old fashioned love song
One I'm sure they wrote for you and me
To weave our dreams upon and listen to a song
Just an old song coming down
Just an old song
What I'm sure they wrote for you and me
Just an old fashioned love song
Coming down in three part harmony
Just an old fashioned love song
One I'm sure they wrote for you and me
Just an old fashioned love song
Coming down in three part harmony
Just an old fashioned love song
One I'm sure they wrote for you and me
Just an old fashioned love song
Coming down in three part harmony
Just an old fashioned love song
One I'm sure they wrote for you and me
Just an old fashioned love song
Coming down in three part harmony
Just an old fashioned love song

Pleasure & Pain
Divinyls an Australian rock band that was formed in Sydney in 1980. The band primarily consisted of vocalist Chrissy Amphlett and guitarist Mark McEntee. Amphlett garnered widespread attention for performing on stage in a school uniform and fishnet stockings, and often used an illuminated neon tube as a prop for displaying aggression towards both band members and the audience. Originally a five-piece, the band underwent numerous line-up changes, with Amphlett and McEntee remaining as core members, before its dissolution in 1996.

====================
Pleasure & Pain (it's a fine line)

Lover, lover, why do you push?
Why do you push? Why do you push?
Baby baby, did you forget about me?

I've been standing at the back of your life
Back row centre just above the ice
Please don't ask me how I've been getting off
No, please don't ask me how I've been getting off

Break my body, with the back of your hand
Doesn't make sense from where I stand
Baby, baby why you wanna mess it up
Sooner or later I'll find my place
Find my body better fix my face
Please don't ask me
How I've been getting off
No, please don't ask me
How I've been getting off

It's a fine line between pleasure and pain
You've done it once you can do it again
Whatever you done don't' try to explain
It's a fine, fine line between pleasure and pain
It's all the same

Sooner or later I'll find my place
Find my body better fix my face
Please don't ask me
How I've been getting off
Ah, now please don't ask me
How I've been getting off

Enjoy:-

Tall and tan and young and lovely
The girl from Ipanema goes walking
And when she passes, each one she passes goes ah
When she walks she's like a samba
That swings so cool and sways so gentle
That when she passes, each one she passes goes ooh
But I watch her so sadly
How can I tell her I love her?
Yes, I would give my heart gladly
But each day when she walks to the sea
She looks straight ahead not at me
Tall and tan and young and lovely
The girl from Ipanema goes walking
And when she passes, I smile but she doesn't see
Doesn't see
Olha que coisa mais linda mais cheia de graзa
Й ela, menina, que vem e que passa
Num doce balanзo a caminho do mar
Moзa do corpo dourado do sol de Ipanema
O seu balanзado parece um poema
Й a coisa mais linda que eu jб vi passar

I Googled & got this:

"Pi Day is celebrated every year March 14 as the first three digits of pi are three, one and four, representing the date. This day was officially recognized by the U.S. House of Representatives in 2009 to help the country "reinforce mathematics and science education for all students in order to better prepare our **** for the future and in order to compete in a 21st Century economy."

It is believed earliest known official celebration of Pi Day was organized by American physicist Larry Shaw in 1988 at the San Francisco Exploratorium.

Pi, which represents the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter, is an important part of the foundation of mathematics. The ancient Babylonians calculated pi roughly 4,000 years ago."

seem it's another US contrivance
