Not a connoisseur here, so I just hit the hardware store for cheap!

I wear a child size jade bracelet. Both rubber and metal ones, even those that claimed to be surgical steel, caused skin problems for me. If there is a store that sells Chinese imports near you try there (London Chinatown, perhaps). Since I visit Hong Kong regularly I buy them at the Jade Market there for just a few dollars each. In addition to not causing a rash, jade will not set off the metal detectors in airport security lines. I've heard of this happening. Since I wear mine 24/7 and travel a lot, this is an important plus.
