People should be aware that pneumonia is going around. It is a serious, life-threatening disease that is being mistaken for the flu. Our doctor is urging us to get vaccinated for prevention of pneumonia as soon as possible. Adults aged 50 and up, and infants 6 weeks through 5 years of age, are at risk for pneumococcal pneumonia. We recently lost an male friend in his 50s who died from the complications of pneumonia. Please take this seriously and consult your medical doctor.

Good idea to get both of them. The flu vaccine increases the effectiveness of the pneumonia vaccine. Pneumonia caused my friend to die of kidney failure.
