If I may chime in... my thighs and lower legs
USED to be much more Hairier than they 'are' now.
Back in the early '90s I lived in Los Angeles CA for
about 6 years... nice dry weather most of the time,
and I was always outside in shorts.
My legs were at their Hairiest back then.

I moved back to NY in the summer of '95... my hairy leg
appearance went downhill since then, with the long-assed
winter months of wearing long-johns and layers of clothing
to stay warm outdoors.

But, I also love to wear tight black jeans
(it's always been a Rocker thing with me).

Long story short, all that tight leg wear took its toll
on my leg hairs... something about the tightness of
clothing against my legs caused my leg hairs to get
pulled and rubbed off.

Fabric Friction against the body = Heat causing some
hair loss, especially with tight leggings and jeans.

My thighs are half-smooth now, and most of the hairs
on my lower legs are gone thus leaving me with smooth
calves and shins.

I miss my leg hair. But just so you know, I lost most
of my leg hair in this unusual method wearing tight
jeans and long-johns throughout the cold weather season.
I never wanted to lose my leg hair; it just happened.

Hi, no, no laser treatments ever but your post reminded me how badly I want to get a good home electrolysis device.

Unfortunately I have hairs on my chin which I'd love to be rid of.

don't waste your money on the home treatments, go have it done professionally, most the home ones don't work and you'll waste your money, you can haggle the price at a clinic and get a far better result and a proper assessment on whether your hair is suitable for treatment or not...which the home ones don't tell you, *lix*

Licks, thanks, does electrolysis hurt? Did she say?
By #485312 at 06,Aug,15 07:16
no it shouldn't hurt, shouldn't take any more than 6 treatments max, usually a treatment is less than an hour, and works better on most darker hair types than light, they don't recommend it for grey hair or blonde usually *lix*

I have and I'm now pretty much hairless from the neck down. My treatments were professionally done about ten years ago. For most people it takes between two and six treatments spaced several weeks apart for complete hair removal.

I had one on my chest, but that wasn't very hairy, two on my underarms, again not as hairy as most men, and three on my genital region. By genital region I mean starting from above my navel down and all the way around to above my anus. It cost me about fifteen hundred dollars for these six treatments, but I understand that the cost has come down as more practitioners have entered the field. Also, mine were done by an MD (not all practitioners are), so that might have made the price higher.

In the ten years since I've had some re-growth, maybe two or three per cent of what was there originally. I sometimes think about another treatment, but this re-growth is very fine and light and is easily shaved off.

$15.000?!

How much is a single treatment?

I don't recall, but that's a moot point for a couple of reasons. One is that a single treatment is rarely enough. The other is that since then home laser devices have come on the market. They work and are very reasonably priced, about $200. The professional laser hair removal establishments have gone out of business.

By the way, Ray10754 has one, has used it and has a photograph of it on his page. I have one of the same model that I use for touch up.
