I hate dumb people! If I say black coffee with cream & sugar in the bag, that is what I am ordering dumb cunt. It is always a female getting it wrong. When I ask for milk, I want regular milk. Don't ask me if I want chocolate milk idiot. Milk is milk. The level of these workers now a days is never before seen. They are dumb as hell. I am sure people with a superior intellect like JustWill or huxley (or anyone), must notice it. Sorry times have changed for the worst.

I can't read Sherryann's mind, but I think her post goes beyond job and income. No one gives a shit about their job anymore. Failure and ineptitude are just normal now.
By sherryann at 02,Mar,22 00:36 other posts of sherryann
yes sirskittles you know me well. No one cares anymore about their job, people, our country, nothing, people are downright cruel these days not only in the jobs they hold. Failure's they are!

amen, and ignorant ice flakes act like people that expect service and quality are the problem. STUPID liberals!
By Ananas2xLekker at 02,Mar,22 16:41 other posts of Ananas2xLekker
I guess I fall under your STUPID liberal ice flake category.
But why wouldn't 'we' expect service and quality?
I expect a very high level of service and quality and if I don't get it, I take my business elsewhere, often permanently.

I just expect the company to hire and train employees to a good standard
and then pay them enough to retain those employees and keep them motivated.
If they pay for the bottom of the barrel, you get bottom of the barrel service.

Yes, it's always managements fault. They get paid millions and they're not even responsible for how the customers are treated?
By bella! at 02,Mar,22 16:59 other posts of bella!
I heard something on one of Gordon Ramsey's, Kitchen Nightmares Uncensored episode videos on YouTube. He said something like this, If you pay peanuts, you get monkeys. If you pay nothing, you get nothing.

It had to do with the skill level of help that the restaurant in crisis paid their employees. Obviously, if the restaurant paid more, it could attract a better chef. A better chef is more likely to produce better food. Better food would attract clientele. More clientele means more money money, thereby the restaurant wouldn't be hemorrhaging cash....

Exactly, basic supply and demand laws of economy.
Strange how the biggest fans of capitalism don't understand it.

So it is all about money?? My grandfather fought in the 2nd World War, and he rarely said anything about it, but that they did what they had to, and they cared for their BROTHERS.
My dad told me, that "Integrity" is doing what is RIGHT, even when nobody is watching!
Both taught me strong work ethics, and values, but, sadly these are lost, today!
So many today just CHEAT, and do nothing but the BARE MINIMUM, to stay employed, as so many companies are in such DIRE NEED of workers, they tolerate losers, and FUCK-UPs!!

The critical socialist and faux intellectual... always blaming others! Fucking pathetic.
By Ananas2xLekker at 02,Mar,22 18:16 other posts of Ananas2xLekker
If a company gives me bad service, I blame the company. Is that strange?

By the way, I can hardly remember getting actual bad service. The only thing I can think off, is last time we went to McDonald's. That location was just starting up and had some problems hiring and training staff. They forgot something, we asked nicely, they were courteous and we got an extra box of nuggets for free. That is the company understanding they have staff problems, but still satisfying the customer.

So, is it really that bad, or might it be your own attitude?

that employee should be fired for being so smart ass.
No ice,simple.
It cost money to make ice,it's not like it is saving the business a lot of money to replace ice with chemical of choice..

Starbucks coffee is awful. Around here, the only customers are braindead white people paying too much for bad coffee.
By phart at 26,Feb,22 20:01 other posts of phart
Far as I know,I have never been in a star bucks ,I am not a coffee drinker and the people I see go in and out of them don't look to be "normal" people. They look like they are from a foreign country or from up north. They are also LITTER BUGS from hell as out here in the country when they pass thru in their fancy cars, they pitch the cups out.
By sherryann at 26,Feb,22 23:50 other posts of sherryann
we have those abnormal filthy trash throwers here too, they just don't pay for coffee, they just hang around starbucks to use their free internet while casing people to rob them.

I cannot tell if this is a joke or not?
By sherryann at 22,Feb,22 18:18 other posts of sherryann
Hi Kelly. No. No joke. Just fed up with driving away only to see my order wrong. Sorry.
By #553818 at 22,Feb,22 18:23
People who use the term "superior intellect" I tend to stay away from, like, this seems very "Karen" like as it reads.

People get orders wrong.

Though complaining about an order being wrong and then getting mad about someone clarifying what type of milk you want so they don't get it wrong seems to be self-defeating.
By sherryann at 22,Feb,22 18:30 other posts of sherryann
good idea, stay away from me. But i stand by what i said about smart people whatever lingo you wanna use. Some people are just smarter than others' so deal with it. Ohh you called me a "Karen" enough said from you.

Bless every minimum waged person who ever has the misfortune of serving you...
By phart at 23,Feb,22 01:02 other posts of phart
Bless the customer that has to put up with the lousy service from someone not educated enough to earn a higher wage.
There is not much responsibility in a minimum wage job, that is why they don't pay what a pilot or engineer earns.
"yawnt friz wit dat" or "would you like fries with that sir?" don't take a brain surgeon to say or key punch.
By #553818 at 23,Feb,22 15:52
I have absolutely no time for people who are disrespectful to minimum wage workers.

Have a good day, and remember to look both ways when crossing the road.

Bye x
By bella! at 23,Feb,22 16:43 other posts of bella!
Question please?

How is disrespect of and to the minimum wage worker any different of and to any person, in general?
By #553818 at 23,Feb,22 16:47
Because seeing yourself as superior to people because of how much money they make isn't a one off incident.
By bella! at 23,Feb,22 18:29 other posts of bella!
Thank you for your response. So there is a expectation of being polite to a minimum wage worker because they are a minimum wage worker? Allow me to take it a bit further, we as human beings should be polite to everyone, to the unemployed, to indigent and/or homeless, to minorities, to people that do not speak our language, people of different cultral backgrounds, those who do not share our political beliefs or those that do not share our religious beliefs or the lack of, we should be polite to young people, old people, our co-workers, our family members, the members on SYD/SYC, the people that swerve in our lane in rush hour traffic, the folks that are impatient and jump to the front of the line, the people that are well educated as well as those that may not have stayed in school long enough to earn their diplomas. The list goes on and on and as sensible people, we should just be polite, because being polite should have no boundaries. Just sayin'....

And we should be nice to animals, too.
By #553818 at 23,Feb,22 21:35
You're not wrong, but you have missed the point of my post. The "Karen" culture of seeing minimum wage workers as beneath you or the "customer is always right" BS is what I'm referring to.
By bella! at 23,Feb,22 22:07 other posts of bella!
I did not miss your point anymore than you missed my point regarding the use of the word "OR".

By phart at 23,Feb,22 19:47 other posts of phart
It is nothing to do with who's superior,It is all to do with the people having any goal of ever getting to a better job or doing any better for themselves if they can't handle a simple task.
take pride in your work regardless of the task. It is noticed and it will give you a leg up in life if you try.On the other hand if you move from 1 dead end low paying job to another because the boss gets complaints about your quality of work, you will never get anywhere, nor should you.
By #553818 at 23,Feb,22 21:33
The American Dream of "work hard you'll make it" is a load of shit. This isn't news.

Background and circumstance have a lot of sway.

Heck, "Death of a Salesmen" is a pretty famous play about how stupid the idea of the "American Dream" is.

...aren't all white Americans from the UK? Like, historically?
By up-for-it at 26,Feb,22 15:19 other posts of up-for-it
White Americans have ancestors all over Europe , not only English

First settlers were also Dutch, French, Spanish
Later there was also a big wave of Irish and Italians and smaller waves like from Belgium

So white Americans are not all from the UK
By #553818 at 26,Feb,22 22:37
Hence the question mark. For obvious reasons (not being American), honestly didn't know

By phart at 26,Feb,22 19:49 other posts of phart
Thanks for asking this question Bella.
I can't see how it is any "better" or morally "ok" to be disrespectful to a high paid employee than a minimum wage 1.
Disrespect is just that, disrespect, rather it is to the dingbat that gives you a half empty coffee cup or the guy servicing your Land Rover or cutting your chest open to fix your heart valve.

When we say the word Milk here in the US while ordering food and drink, it is perfectly normal to expect and be served WHOLE milk. Not chocolate, not skim, simply whole MILK.
What I despise about these "fast food" restaurants is I walk up to the cashier to order and I start to order and I get interrupted, " is this to go or eat here". and it leaves me thinking, I am in the middle of ordering my food, didn't they notice????? are they not paying attention?
And God forbid you hand them CASH,they have to make a couple extra key punches.
And when you do get reasonable service and you say, "thank you mam or sir, which ever applies, they get all huffy.
Gee people, you get paid a compliment, at least don't frown, we don't expect you to jump up and down and scream, just act normal.
By #553818 at 22,Feb,22 20:41
A lot of systems require the in or 2 go choice before you can start tapping in the order. If you rubbed 2 brain cells together maybe you'd get a little spark and realise you could mention such a thing before you start ordering?

Doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting different results is the definition of insanity.
By phart at 23,Feb,22 01:00 other posts of phart
If the person had 2 brain cells that was taking my order they would remember what i said so i would not have to repeat myself.

It will surely get worse if all states do like Texas and introduce legislation that doesn't allow teachers to teach anything that would make their religious students feel uncomfortable. That means they cannot teach LOGIC anymore.
Good luck if you get those students as employee.

Oh, Oklahoma does it as well: 'Students’ Religious Belief Protection Act'

Oklahoma bill would fine teachers $10k for teaching anything that contradicts religion:
only registered users can see external links

There's your problem; everything in reality contradicts religion.
By phart at 23,Feb,22 19:54 other posts of phart
How does reading, writing, arithmetic, contradict religion? How does teaching a trade, or how to balance your checking account contradict religion?
How does teaching history, like how our nation gained it's independence, contradicting religion?

IF schools were teaching what they were intended to teach when public education was first implemented, you would not have those issues.
.
Now you have a bunch of confused kids that don't know what they are or how they got here and what they are supposed to do besides look to ol Uncle joe for a handout.
By Ananas2xLekker at 23,Feb,22 21:52 other posts of Ananas2xLekker
If that's really all that you want kids to know, than you get those stupid people,
hardly capable of filling your order.

You want teachers to teach them to do a trick, like little monkeys and that's it.
If you think your country can compete against the rest of the world by just breeding obedient factory workers, you are mistaken.

You need to stimulate brains if you want them to have logic, insight, creativity, inspiration, imagination, intuition, etc. You won't stimulate that when you limit kids
to what is allowed under religious suppression.

You don't like or understand science, but your country needs it.
And that means that children are not just allowed to think, but FORCED TO THINK
about any subject. Because their ignorant parents are keeping them down.
By phart at 24,Feb,22 00:45 other posts of phart
To a point I agree with you BUT stimulating the mind of the child is not just the responsibility of a PUBLIC funded school.IT is also the PARENTS job to stimulate the brain.
As a example, I was a very skinny, very wimpy kid. When my family fell apart and I left alone at 15 all week to go to school and etc, all we had was a push lawnmower that stayed broke most of the time. I got tired of pushing that sumbitch. So my dad, stimulated my brain by helping me get a junk riding mower. That pushing shit went out the window and I proceeded to mowing yards with that lawnmower. Both the trades I learned in school in Agmechanics class and my dad helping me get the first machine and letting me use his tools, started me out in what has become a God send for me as it is how I make ends meet to this day. Mowing grass for pay since disability does not cut the mustard and I can do it sitting.
Parents and teachers are supposed to influence the child.

Schools are not using religion to teach How to handle your money ,how the country came about, how things work, and etc.
I don't see how you get teaching kids "tricks" and how to be factory workers out of that. strange indeed.

By #591921 at 24,Feb,22 00:51
That goes down to the Democrats suing dept,of education claiming math and English is racist. However how are you supposed to balance your checkbook oh wait I forgot having a bank and an account is also racist so I guess that doesn't count. Anyway history taken out of school and now they want to remove english and math what are they going to learn in school why even have it.
By Ananas2xLekker at 24,Feb,22 08:56 other posts of Ananas2xLekker
So Republicans are blocking everything that conflicts with religion and Democrats are blocking everything else because it's racist.
Better send the kids to the salt mines then, because your education system is now completely useless.
By phart at 24,Feb,22 11:57 other posts of phart
I read about the common core math that libtards tried to push off on our kids and it makes NO sense.Parents couldn't help with home work and such.
2 plus 2 equals 5 and it would be "correct" because of how you came to that conclusion? eh, nuts, just plain nuts.
"What is the difference between regular math and Common Core math?
Common Core Math is based on concepts and skills that a student must apply in order to solve real-world math problems. ... Traditional math is about getting the correct answer, whereas Common Core math requires students to demonstrate their deeper knowledge and ability on how they arrived to the correct answer"
I guess considering you are liberal you might understand that, but unless 2 plus 2 is 4,it aint correct regardless of how you did it,if it was a experiment or a mechanical issue you would have a failure.
many states have dropped it such as the 1 I live ,

I was talking to a fellow recently about the same subject as this thread.Poor service and orders being wrong in the drive thru.
He said he had went to the local bojangles the day before and when they ask him for his order he just told them to put 5 dollars worth of something in a bag and hand it to him.
The speaker said, "we can't do that". He just told them that it seemed they could because the last 3 times he had went thru his order was WRONG and was about 5 bucks!,
Just as been mentioned, of course mistakes happen. BUT constantly?? Really? I make a effort on drive thru mistakes if I don't catch till I get home, to call and let them know they messed up. and I have been given a number to put on the receipt to take back and get a credit before as well. IF you don't complain, or politely inform someone of a problem, it will never be solved.

Hi, sherryann --
Sorry to hear that you had a tough/frustrating time at the coffee shop.

While I agree that there seems to be a lot more free-floating "dumb" in the world these days, the sort of thing that you describe doesn't really bother me that much. Mistakes happen, people are all too stressed-out, and I always assume that folks in the service industry are doing the best that they can on any given day. (Heck, we ALL have off days once in a while).
Everyone is way too angry and stressed all the time about everything, and I always try to avoid adding to that over small things. Believe it or not, but I tend to lean toward kindness and understanding as much as I can in real life. That's one of the many lessons I've learned in my years as a teacher.

Life is tough for everyone; I don't want to be the guy who makes it even harder for them if it can be helped.

Also--though I believe you meant it as a compliment--it kinda bugs me when people refer to me as being of "superior intellect". I have never claimed to be such--I just am what I am (not in a Popeye way )--and it makes me uncomfortable that people say that about me. (I hope that didn't come off as me being harsh, because I honestly like and respect you!)

I hope your next coffee-run goes much better!
By bella! at 22,Feb,22 19:37 other posts of bella!
I admire your intellect, so deal with it.
By JustWill at 22,Feb,22 20:05 other posts of JustWill
I just happen to be a guy who knows stuff about a lot of things and my brain is wired to file it all away in case it becomes useful at some point. (Which also means that my brain-meat is cluttered with a lot of useless info)
I also have the ability to recall that stuff fairly quickly.
I was just born that way.
I don't like to brag about it because it really isn't something that I worked hard to have, and it feels "snobbish" to talk about it.
It's like a guy who thinks that having a big dingus makes him better than anyone else, when genetics is what gave him that pecker and he did nothing to earn it himself.

You don't refer to yourself as being of "superior intellect" because you practise kindness over a sense of superiority of those who offer you services (such as coffee).

Yes, people are smarter than people, but I've found anyone who refers to themselves of being of "superior intellect" are normally cold and bitter.

Don't ever stop being kind to others
