The number of SYD members seems to be steadily dropping, or at least not significantly rising. Why?

Shortly speaking - because no new members come to the site. Old members can't stay forever, eventually everybody stop being active. It's true about any site, and this one is not even particularly interesting. What can you see here aside from thousands of dicks? And the system here deletes inactive accounts.

I would never become a member of this site if I did not have to. So I don't know. I'm more interested in politics and human nature. But it does not seem wise to try to convert a porn site into a political discussion board, even if both are about dicks.

Besides, it does not matter. Without fresh members the site will die. It's really simple - it was on search engines by "penis pic" and "dig dicks". Now "penis pic" is occupied by articles from newspapers and wikipedia and "big dicks" is occupied by porn tubes with huge traffic. This seems to be new criteria for search engines - only huge sites with lots of visitors can be on top. This site does not have chances to be there anymore.
