Let me ask a question.Are we at War with Russia?
Most would say profoundly, "no". Because they are not bombing us,we are not bombing them and so on.
We are not bringing home dead soilders that they killed.
BUT Ukraine is at war with Russia.Ukraine seems to think they can do better on their own and are fighting,and KILLING their Russian neighbors that are simply following orders,and vice versa.
When the US sends money,or equipment to the Ukraine we are basicly putting ourselves at War with the Russians. Because equipment with Made in the USA written on it is taking Russian lives.

I got some home automation stuff people can buy for home. A thermostat and some internet connect speakers and lights. I can turn lights on just by talking or change the thermostat temp. Now I just have the lights set to come on automatically at sunset. If I have to pay for someone else college education I would not have these thing.

I'll tell you about the job because I bet most people won't do it. They will choose the fast food job because is more easy and less hours. The job is Truck Driver. They have free training and will pay them during training. You will work 70 hours a week and live and sleep on the job. You will work 3-6 weeks. It pays lots more then fast food. Most people won't do the job. Training for the job pays more then fast food job.
So you should tell them to get out of that fast food job. I can tell you of some companies that need driver and will train then if they are really interested. Here the thing. It Friday morning, do you think I'll be home this weekend or working ?? I don't know myself. That how the job works and why I get paid lots more then fast food. They will pay ME not to work. If they don't get me home. I get paid regular pay, plus I get $100 extra not to work on Sunday. They are going to pay me $100 not to work. They need more drivers are willing to pay. Truckers voted for Trump in droves. Now they say his trade war is 'killing' their ability to make a living.
Morris Coffman has been a truck driver for 35 years. And he's been a conservative for even longer than that — his whole life.
"That said," Coffman told Business Insider, "[Trump] is absolutely a moron. His idiotic ideas will tank the economy even further."
Truckers, like Coffman, lean conservative. A Verdant Labs analysis of Federal Elections Commission data found that nearly three-quarters of truck drivers are Republican — one of the most conservative jobs in America, along with surgeons and farmers.
But a sharp downturn in the trucking industry and a slew of tax changes have hampered their ability to make a living. And many connect those two trends to Trump's economic policies.
Trump's tax reworking in 2017 led to many truck drivers having to pay hundreds in taxes this year, thanks to a change in per-diem laws. Dennis Bridges, an accountant who specializes in doing taxes for truckers, told Mother Jones in April that 75% of his clients saw an unusually large tax payment, and about 20% had to fork over more than $5,000.
That might've been bearable in 2018, when trucking capacity was tight, the industry was raking in cash, and truckers saw their pay jump. But now the trucking "bloodbath," as Coffman and other truckers describe current transportation conditions, has meant low rates and low pay for truckers. Trucking has been in a recession since late 2018.

A lower hourly wage,say 12 instead of 16,would turn most folks to the 16.But then, the 12 dollar a hour person has paid vacation and sick leave and insurance.All that the 16 per hour person has to pay more for out of pocket or does not have.

I'm making some of the best money ever in trucking. I got pay raise, the trucking company is looking to expand the fleet even today they want more drivers. I have made more money every year for the last 3 years. So the idea the Trump is killing trucking it not true. I did not get $5,000 tax increase
You are correct someone with kids would probably not want to drive a truck. That's their choice. Someone flipping burgers, may not want to drive a truck. It's their choice, but they are not stuck in a fast food job. They can't blame Trump for that. They should not claim we now have pay for their health insurance because they flip burgers. How about they get a better job that pays better just like me ? People should be able to tell us how much national heath care will cost. If it's close to what I'm paying now for heath insurance maybe we can do this. But if its a crazy number because we are going to insure everyone and people want to keep flipping burgers without heath insurance. Then I'm not paying for them or voting for someone who keep say claiming it's not big tax increase. They are talking like 2 or 3 Trillion a year tax increase. If your flipping burgers at minimum wage it not a problem. If your making ok money driving a truck that can get expensive.

I did a quick Google search and it say in 2018 we had 156 million people working in USA. That's $17,300 per working person. We can taxes the really rich people more. At $17,300 that's almost Six time what I'm paying now.

Yes, we are trying to include everyone, but, aren't illegals and uninsured still treated in emergency rooms? Don't say no because my whole 25 yr career has been in hospitals and primarily in the ER. I have solution to the problem. How about we force any business that hire employees to pay the $11,172 average national health car cost. A fast food job is not meant to be a job you raise a family on. The problem you point out is true having kids and only a fast food job is a bad way to live. So people need to be more responsible. How about not having kids until you have job that provides the income you need to actually raise kids. People have sex and get pregnant and life end up not going as planned. So people get stuck in low paying job and can't get better themselves. Does that mean I know have to pay for a college education for them. We have to let people being responsible for their own lives. In January 2020, the unemployment rate was 3.6%.1 That's slightly higher than December's 3.5% rate, the lowest since December 1969.
The January rate is at the 3.5% to 4.5% natural rate of unemployment. If unemployment is less than the natural rate, businesses can't find enough workers to keep operating at full capacity. That could slow economic growth.
The number of long-term unemployed remained at 1.2 million. Those are people who have been searching for jobs for 27 weeks or more.
The real unemployment rate was 6.9%2. It includes those who are underemployed and marginally attached. The real rate also contains 337,000 discouraged workers. These are people who have given up looking for work but would take a job if it were offered.

It cannot escape the eye that there is a lot of misery next to great wealth and that society is unsafe in many places (locked storewindows, gated communities, armed guards). The number of terribly obese people is staggering (you won't see any cops with big bellies in China or Europe) and in the country you can see lots of young people walking nowhere with all their belongings in a rucksack and a dog without a lease to keep them company.No happy furure for most of them on the horizon. It's easy to find drugs and the relics of it's use.
It's a society seemingly in decline on the whole with patches of prosperity.
