I get irrationally upset with these kinds of responses, but it's mainly because I have a degree involving evolutionary biology, so it strikes a nerve for me.

Simply, the notion that female selection has driven penis size in humans is flat wrong; patriarchal cultures dominate the historical landscape on the scale needed to move this trait at the worldwide level, and female choice therein can charitably be described as minimal, at best.

Further, it puts undue emphasis on penis size as a factor in mate selection, when social status, provider potential and fertility and the wellbeing of offspring rank light years ahead of a big dick on the scale of desirability across time and cultures.

Finally, it's entirely possible (and likely) that penis size is merely linked to one of the other traits that *is* being selected for. Call it a bonus. (Or "bone-us," if you're so inclined)
